Cielo Cerezo is an independent film producer with several feature projects in various stages of development including, Aliens For Breakfast, Aliens For Lunch, and Aliens For Dinner - a trilogy of children's books by Jonathan Etra and Stephanie Spinner. The project is currently set up at Paramount where she is co-producing the family feature franchise with veteran producer Jordan Kerner (Risky Business, George of the Jungle, Charlotte's Web). Other feature projects include: The Fat Man based on the critically acclaimed Y/A novel by Maurice Gee with Summit Entertainment attached as the foreign sales company; and L.A. Secret Police, based on the non-fiction bestseller by former LAPD officer Mike Rothmiller.

Before becoming an independent producer, Cielo served as the Director of Development at New York based production company, Good Machine, Inc. (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, In the Bedroom, Brokeback Mountain) co-founded by James Schamus, and Ted Hope. In addition to helping build Good Machine's slate of projects, Cielo was integrally involved in the company's efforts to find and shape material for Academy Award winning director, Ang Lee, as well as shepherding many of Good Machine's independent feature film projects towards production.

While helping develop Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Cielo was also responsible for initiating Good Machine's efforts to branch out into the family film market, identifying several properties that were subsequently set up, including the Caldecott Honor book Sector 7 by David Wiesner (set up at Nickelodeon), and Regeneration, a series of Y/A books by L.J. Singleton (set up at Fox TV Production). And because of Good Machine's Indie pedigree, Cielo consistently worked with a stable of established and emerging writers, directors, and producers including: director, Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem For A dream, The Fountain); producer, Sid Ganis (The Animal, Big Daddy, Deuce Bigelow); producer, Ross Katz (Lost In Translation, Marie Antoinette); and Academy Award winning producer Fred Roos (The Godfather, Part II and III, Apocalypse Now, Lost In Translation).

Prior to her time at Good Machine, Cielo worked for the marketing department of Fine Line Features (The Player, Shine, Short Cuts), and as an assistant to talent agent Rhonda Price at The Gersh Agency in New York.

Cielo served as a board member on IFP North's Steering Committee, and acted as Secretary for the New York Women's Film Festival. She has served as a panelist for the Blockbuster McKnight Fellowship, which awards grants to independent filmmakers, as well as the selection committee of the Wasserman Awards, which seeks to identify and acknowledge outstanding directors and writers in the NYU Graduate Film Program.

Before venturing into the film industry, Cielo worked on Wall Street as a financial analyst for UBS PaineWebber. She earned a B.A. in English Literature and Political Science from New York University, graduating with honors.
